Important COVID-19 Update 3/20/20

Dear Congregation and Friends of Asbury UMC,

Greetings in the Name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

It has been a week since “the world turned upside down,” and somehow, we are managing to adapt to this new way of living. Know that I continue to keep each of you in my prayers. Even in our separation from one another, we continue to worship a God of presence and hope. I pray that you continue to feel the presence of the Holy Spirit in your daily lives.

Our present time is forcing us to discover new and exciting ways to do ministry. Over the past two days, the following plans have been set in motion to allow us to continue to worship and be in community:

  • Worship will be online beginning this Sunday. I encourage you to visit our website (http://asburyop.com) and Facebook page on Sunday Morning for the link to the video. You will be able to pray, sing, and listen to the sermon as if you worshiped with us in-person.
  • You can now give your tithes and offerings online. There is a link on our webpage (http://asburyop.com/give) that will allow you to submit your tithes and offerings via a credit/debit card or transfer from your checking or savings account. You will also have the ability to check a box on the form to offset the processing fees associated with this method. Of course, you are also welcome to use Bill Pay through your bank or mail a check (16 College Dr., Orange Park, FL 32065)
  • Part of the reason we go to church is to be in community with one another. We are working on ways to keep this important part of our ministry occurring. We will be arranging a conference call for members to gather and talk and phone groups to make sure that people don’t slip through the cracks during this pandemic. More information about this will come next week.

Should you have any questions, please reach out to the church by phone (904-272-0110) or email info@asburop.com. You can also reach me by email (pastor@asburyop.com).

I encourage you to stay safe and follow the instructions of local health officials and the CDC. May God continue to bless you with the grace and love that is greater than our fears!

In Christ,

Pastor Chris
