Rev. Jennifer Ahrens-Sims

Rev. Jennifer Ahrens-Sims began serving Asbury UMC in July 2021. She is an ordained elder in The UMC. Jennifer completed her Master of Divinity degree at Saint Paul School of Theology where she presently serves as a member of the Trustees. Prior to serving in NE Florida, Jennifer served churches in the Oklahoma City metro area. She served in various district and conference leadership positions while in Oklahoma. Additionally, Rev. Ahrens-Sims served in civic capacities and brings information and experience from her background in nursing and healthcare. Asbury UMC is her third appointment.
She and her husband Eddie have two school age children. They enjoy being outdoors and exploring Florida’s state park system. They also enjoy traveling and learning about history and culture.

Annette attended and has been a member of Middleburg UMC and Orange Park UMC. She has been employed by the Methodist church for 15 plus years, at two churches in the administrative area.
Annette has one son and three grandchildren. She enjoys training and showing her Clumber Spaniels.
Sarah Shoremount
Music Director

Sarah has served as Music Director since April 2022. She received a BM in Music Education and an MM in Music Performance from Shenandoah University in Virginia. Her major instrument is oboe, with a minor in voice. She has been teaching music in the public school system since 2012. Sarah was the soprano section leader at a couple of Virginia churches, as well as the handbell choir director at her last church, before moving to Florida in 2021.
Sarah and her husband Paul have three cats and two dogs, and enjoy spending time at flea markets and on the river. Sarah also enjoys baking and Irish dancing.
